Cheryl Rhoads of Tullahoma Animal Shelter Named Central Region Director of AACAT

Tullahoma, TN – 19 Feb. 24 – The Animal Care & Control Association of Tennessee (ACCAT) is proud to announce Cheryl Rhoads, the Animal Control Manager at Tullahoma Animal Shelter, as the new Central Region Director. This prestigious role recognizes her significant contributions to animal welfare and shelter management. Cheryl will continue to lead the Tullahoma Animal Shelter while assisting ACCAT in this volunteer role, showcasing her dedication to animal care both locally and regionally.

Cheryl brings to AACAT a rich background in animal shelter management, rescue operations, and community involvement. As the head of the Tullahoma Animal Shelter, Cheryl has been instrumental in introducing innovative initiatives like the 'Foster to Adopt' program, which significantly improved adoption rates and enhanced post-adoption experiences. Under her leadership, the Tullahoma Animal Shelter was recently recognized as a No-Kill animal shelter by the Best Friends Animal Society, highlighting the exceptional impact of their adoption program.

AACAT, founded in 1989, is dedicated to elevating the standards and methods of the animal control profession throughout Tennessee. The association focuses on educating the public about the vital role of animal control organizations, fostering cooperation with other animal welfare agencies, and advocating for fair enforcement of animal control laws.

Cheryl's appointment as Central Region Director is a testament to her unwavering dedication to animal welfare. With a Bachelor of Business Administration from Middle Tennessee State University, Cheryl expertly blends her administrative skills with a deep passion for animal care, consistently advocating for the wellbeing of animals across the state.
